Support for Alarm audio

Post by nxr510 on Sun May 01, 2016 3:26 pm

Hi. I don't know if this has been posted yet. But I think it would be nice if SoundAbout had support for Alarm audio so I decide to play it through Speakers or Wired Headphones.

Yes please! I would like to route media (music) to my Bluetooth speakers, but alarm to phone speakers or vibrate only. Is this possible?

Thanks.

The alarm app is responsible for setting what audio stream is used (Alarm, Notification, or Media).
SoundAbout can only turn various audio output channels on or off.

If the alarm would broadcast an Intent, before playing, then SoundAbout could intercept the intent and switch the audio. That is possible for phone calls, because of the ring, answer, finish call Intents.

What exact steps to set to get
clock alarm to ring thru wired earbuds, yet
not thru speaker.
I need this so I can wake up without waking my spouse.
thanks

On my phone this works for alarms.

1] Open SoundAbout
2] Press "Alert behavior"
3] Press "Wired Headset behavior"
4] Press "Notifications to"
5] Change to "Current Phone setting (Headset only)" to respect the vibrate/silent mode of the phone, send notification to the wired headset, but block notifications from the speaker.
6] Change to "Headset only (override)" to NOT respect the vibrate/silent mode of the phone, send notification to the wired headset, and block notifications from the speaker.
