Alpine CDE HD149BT paired with Verizon Droid Maxx

Post by mmaldon50 on Tue Oct 08, 2013 10:22 pm

Will Soundabout be able to make Google Navigation voice directions play through my car speakers using another source besides Bluetooth Audio source. Everything works fine when my car stereo is set to Bluetooth Audio as my source, but once i switch to another source Google Navigation audio is played through the phone speaker which i don't want.

What other source did you want to use to get the Navigation audio through the Alpine?

1- If you use Bluetooth Audio source, then you are waiting for directions and can't listen to the radio.
2 - If you use Aux 3.5mm line in, then you are waiting for directions and can't listen to the radio.
3 - The only other option is if the Alpine has Bluetooth phone profile. I read that you get phone calls through the Alpine. This means the Alpine must have a built-in Microphone for Bluetooth phone calls.

If that is the case, you can try using the SoundAbout Text-To-Speech settings to route Text-To-Speech from the Google Navigation app to your stereo via the Bluetooth mono (phone call) profile. This pauses the radio, like you are getting a phone call, sends the audio (might need a delay for it to connect), and then lets the radio continue.

Directions are here:
