Galaxy S4 verizon mono bluetooth switching error

Having trouble switching back from call audio to media audio using bluetooth mono headset. The App starts connected to media audio output and when after made or received a call, it doesn't automatically switch back to media output. The only work around I've found is to toggle headset widget on & then back off.

Other than that it mostly works good. There are a couple bugs. I will try to explain them when I find them.

Before the phone call are you listening to media using "Bluetooth mono" headset?

You get a phone call that uses "Bluetooth mono" headset.

After the call, the media won't go back to "Bluetooth mono" for media?

Is that correct?

Can you get a screenshot of the SoundAbout settings, including Bluetooth behavior settings?

Yes I notice this issue when mono bluetooth is connected to media output music, speech to text input. And then make receive call and end, doesn't switch back to media output.

If you are using "(Mono) Media audio usage" then the Bluetooth headset is activated for media and the Bluetooth microphone is ready, so you probably don't need "(Mono) Microphone override".

You would use "(Mono) Microphone override", if your media audio was going to the phone speaker, or maybe wired headphones.

That's not what is causing the issue. I just noticed it in your settings.

I made a fix for the phone call back to Bluetooth mono issue and put it in the Beta section.

I just turned off mono microphone override and that fixed the call audio switching issues. After the call though I still have to go toggle the headphone phone widget on and back off, to get it to switch back to Media Audio on mono Bluetooth headset. That is not that bad of a problem but I would like to see it switch back automatically if possible.

I am having a hard time reproducing the issue. Can you give me a step by step on how you usually set up the phone, listen to media, get a phone call and then when the issue occurs?

I just meant something like this, so I can get a sense of the order of what you are trying to do:

1 - Turn on phone
2 - Set SoundAbout "media audio" to <some setting>
3 - listen to music
4 - Get a call
5 - Finish call
6 - Don't hear music. Look at music player it is not paused. Close and reopen music player, still no sound
7 - Change SoundAbout "media audio" to ?? and back to ??. Now music plays.

Media output working on mono Bluetooth headset. Then make or receive call(switches fine) and then end. does not switch back to media output. the workaround is that I toggle the widget "headset toggle" on and then back off and that gets the media output back on.

What are you listening to before the phone call? Is it music?

OK, after the call when you don't hear anything, put your ear to the ear speaker (normally used for phone calls). Do you hear anything (music) from the ear speaker?

I mostly use the media output for speech to text input. After a call it doesn't switch back. Then I hear nothing from headset eariece or speaker. I can go back into a call and hear the audio. So it's like it doesn't switch back to media output after a call. I don't know what the headset toggle does but it resets it back to media output

I just noticed also after a call, I turn off the headset and the media starts playing through the speaker

Hiya I just wanted to give an update after I installed 2.5.6.8 Most of it is working except for when I receive a callI I don't hear audio from them and they don't hear me.    
If I make (send) a call it switches back and forth from media to phone to media with no problems.
Just in case I didn't tell you before,  I have Bluetooth auto connect installed. I have tested with and without it and don't see any difference.

I have a built-in way to see where the audio is being routed.

1) Open SoundAbout
2) Change the "SoundAbout Service" setting to "ON - foreground"
3) Click the "Notification behavior" category.
4) Check the "Status Bar Notification" to turn it ON.
5) Now there is a SoundAbout icon. When you receive a call, you can drag the the status bar down to see what the SoundAbout notification says. It should tell you where it is trying to route the audio.

Let me know what it says.

Incoming call shows routing to bluetooth mono phone call, but still no incoming call sound or mic.

I had the exact same issue on my s4.

Make sure the voice controls on the s4 are off. Once I did that, I could get incoming calls..

Yes, that voice control setting tries to turn on a microphone so you can answer the call with your voice. It never works anyway and you just look like an idiot yelling at your phone. "ANSWER CALL" !!!!!

I just wanted to add that I was still having a few glitches. I found out that s voice also causes problems. You need to make sure that voice control and wake up command in setting is turned off.

Now everything is working just fine.
